We have well and truly dived into our first Literacy topic - William Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'. We first identified the themes of the play before looking at different versions of the opening scenes. From exploring the language used at the time, to character analysis, the children came up with some fantastic vocabulary and discussion which we have added to our Working Wall. This also helped them take on their roles as they practised acting out the first scene. The children have worked extremely hard and we were able to perform the scenes to each other today. I am impressed with how well the groups worked as teams and encouraged one another to really get involved. We certainly have some budding actors and actresses in year 6 - I can't wait to see more from them as the year progresses!
