Now that the first night was done and dusted (fairly impressively for the first sleep!) the children woke early ready to start day 2. With tummies full of breakfast cereal, tea, fruit juice and a cooked breakfast for some, the children met with their groups to find out what the day had in store.

Group 1 and 2 both had their canoeing day today and were swiftly changed into waterproof gear, buoyancy aids and helmets, whilst group 3 headed out to Brimham Rocks this morning, followed by biking this afternoon.

They have all positively excelled themselves today - I thought yesterday was good, but today was just as incredible. Groups 1 and 2 canoed about 5km from Westwick Lock along the River Ure, stopping off for some canal ball games and to learn new skills. A few soggy pairs of trainers later and we had some suitably exhausted children on our hands!

Group 3 showed amazing rock climbing skills at Brimham - managing to traverse gaps and clamber through holes with ease, not to mention a spot of tree climbing. This afternoon, they showed off their biking prowess around the on site bike tracks and off road course.

This evening, the children enjoyed a visit from Miss Hodgson, who was incredibly impressed with their dorm organisation, followed by an hour searching the Bewerley grounds for 'Aliens' as part of the the Alien Game (an orienteering based activity).
Another quiet supper of hot chocolate and a snack led to a nice calm evening before bed. The children are all tucked up now and as I sit here and listen carefully, I hear nothing but silence... I think they must be tired tonight...

Goodnight all 😊
