Dear Parents
As we start the school year we would like to remind you of the importance of updating school with any changes of food allergies, intolerances and diets relating to your child has which have not been previously shared with school.
During the School year children are invited on occasions to sample and handle various foods in class as part of their topics.
For example Year 2 and Reception last year sampled Chinese food as part of the Chinese New Year.
We have previously informed parents when this is going to take place but sometime this isn’t possible and can spoil the element of surprise for children. Where we are aware of issues we are able to put steps in place to avoid problems.
We have also taken the difficult decision to ask parents not to send in ‘birthday treats’ to share with class mates this year. A lovely gesture but which we have found can cause issues when they aren’t suitable for all the children in the class.
On a final note please remember we are a ‘nut free’ school.
