Dear parents and carers,

We have reached the end of the autumn term and I am so proud of all the children and what they have achieved. It has also been lovely to see so many of you at the wide variety of performances that have taken place over the last few days.

Thank you for all your good wishes and presents for the staff – they are very much appreciated and demonstrate how much you value everything the staff seek to do for your children – the effort and energy they put into making school such a special place.

I would also like to thank you particularly on behalf of Miss Hodgson for the generous support and donations that you continue to make towards the charity she supports in Bradford – Homeless not Hopeless. This is becoming very much a village cause – the money collected from the carols around the Elm Tree on Christmas Eve will also be donated to them.

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago to the children that another idea would be for them to do a sort of reverse Advent over the school holidays where each day they put a tinned food item into a ‘sack’ to be brought into school in January.  Just an idea to reinforce with our children how lucky they are compared to many in our society.

You will have seen that take up for the After School Clubs offered next year was low.  We have taken the decision not to run the homework club as a result.  There are spaces remaining in all the clubs (year 2 cookery, years 1 & 2 Kanga, years 3 & 4 Boardgames/challenges) – please contact the office if your child would like to take part.

Just a reminder about online safety over the holidays – this is a link to the parent’s section of the Think u Know website:  Parents and carers | CEOP Education (thinkuknow.co.uk)

May I wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas and I look forward to seeing everyone again on Wednesday 4th January 2023.

Best wishes

Fiona Prest
