Transition

Year 6 have had a busy couple of weeks indeed - from Shakespeare to Numeracy, they've certainly 'got stuck in'. (More to follow on the Shakespeare!)

One of our other focusses however has been to start thinking in more depth about secondary transition and what that means to us as individuals and as a cohort.

We watched the video, 'Moving Up', from Anna Freud, which you might wish to share again at home, that looks at the lives of several year 6 pupils starting secondary school. It thinks about the different worries they have and how they work through them with the help of others.

We will also be using their incredible projects (thank you for the support with this at home) which we are going to use as a foundation for delving further into the topic.

Finally, I've attached a useful 'Top Ten Tips' toolkit below. This is created by Young Minds - a charity working to support children and young peoples' mental health and wellbeing. They also have a useful blog about supporting children who may be struggling with change; click here to access it.
