This week, we took part in the National 'Churches Count on Nature' Survey led by Dr Judith Allinson, an expert in grasses, lichens and wildflowers.  In small groups, we used a quadrat (a 1 metre square wooden frame)  to isolate an area of land in the churchyard.  Then, we spent an hour identifying and logging all the different types of grasses, wildflowers, lichen, funghi and creatures within our quadrat.  Our results have now been sent off.
