We cannot believe how incredibly hard Year 6 have worked on their Trench Projects as part of our WW1 History topic. We truly are in awe of the levels of creativity, imagination and detail that has been put into each and every one, not to mention the written projects the children have completed as well.
It is clear to see that you have learned a great deal from this topic and have appreciated the importance of understanding the history of WW1 and the incredibly difficult circumstances that Trench Warfare brought to those who fought in the Great War. I can't begin to imagine how those men would feel, were they to know that so many years on, here we are taking the time to think about what they sacrificed, and honour them by recreating those torrid times in such creative and memorable ways.
It has been a pleasure to see you all share and enjoy one another's projects - as well as see how impressed children from other year groups have been. You have certainly inspired a number of younger children here at Embsay who are now very much looking forward to studying the topic themselves.
