This was our big investigation question today. The children selected which surfaces they wanted to test: fake grass, rubber matting, carpet, wooden floor, paper, etc. They carefully thought about how to keep the test fair: just changing the surface and keeping everything else the same. Then, they accurately measured how far the car travelled: checking as a group that they agreed with the final measurement. Next week, they will gather their results together and present them as a bar chart.
